Carrie I. Jacobson

Appointed as the first female Managing Shareholder in 2024, Carrie brings more than two decades of legal experience and leadership to her role.  Carrie’s distinguished career with Brown & Carlson began in 2002 when she joined as an Associate. Since then, she has built a comprehensive practice focused on all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.  She represents a broad range of clients including local and national employers, insurers, self-insured employers and third-party administrators.

Carrie is widely recognized for her dedication to delivering positive, cost-effective outcomes for her clients. With a keen eye for detail and a deep commitment to relationship-building and collaboration, she approaches each case with professionalism and strategic insight. Her thoughtful, strategic approach has earned her a strong reputation in the legal community and within the firm.

As Managing Shareholder, Carrie leverages her extensive legal knowledge and strategic insight to guide the ongoing growth and success of Brown & Carlson. Beyond her leadership responsibilities, she remains an active contributor to the workers’ compensation field—frequently lecturing on key topics and serving as a contributing author to the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Deskbook.

Outside of work, Carrie enjoys gardening, outdoor activities, and spending time “up north” with her two teenage daughters. Among her favorite personal milestones are backpacking across Europe—from London to the Greek Islands—and traveling to Spanish-speaking countries to improve her language skills.
